Preston’s own WWE wresting star Wade ‘Bad News’ Barrett tweeted in support of Preston North End during the World Cup recently.

Wade said he gave up on England after the team suffered an embarrassing early exit while the USA team put in an impressive performance.

Now Americans are getting more into football Wade suggests if they want to support English football a potential English team to follow is from his home town.

Wade bigged up Preston North End on Twitter. The many comments on his tweet make for interesting reading.

He also twittered: “It was great to see how excited the entire US was for today’s World Cup game. The average yank is genuinely buzzing about the game.

“Of course it will die down post-Word Cup, but I think a lot of Americans have found a new level of respect and appreciation for the game”.

It really is great to see Wade still supporting and highlighting his local team.
