The Snap That Preston 2014 winner has been chosen.
AdvertisementThe Snap That competition was launched back in March by Preston’s Business Improvement District (BID) which promotes Preston city centre.
The competition aims to use your best Preston images to promote the city and also feature at an exhibition in the St George’s Shopping Centre.
Photographers across the city were asked to snap Preston in a new light and submit their images to the Preston Flickr group. Blog Preston fully backed the Snap That Preston initiative.
Tony Worrall, Admin of the Preston Group on Flickr together, with Wilkinson Cameras MD David Parkinson and Marketing Manager at St George’s Shopping Centre Alanna Dent judged the entries. And we had a tough time! The quality of all entries was very high. It was a shame a few great pictures didn’t make it through to judging due to incorrect tags or categories.
After much deliberation we selected William ‘Billy’ Matthews’ black an white image of the Covered Market in Preston as overall winner. Congratulations to Billy.
Top prize, kindly donated by Wilkinson Cameras and St. George’s, was £400 of vouchers to spend in Wilkinson Cameras, Preston.
Billy will also be offered a chance to photo one of BID’s Christmas events later this year.
The winning image, together with the finalist photos, will be shown in St. George’s Shopping Centre over the coming weeks. We will let everyone know when and where later.
A huge thank you from BID Preston for all the entries this year. It is hoped that Snap That Preston will return in 2015.
