He was injured on Sunday at 12.15pm on Preston Old Road, Blackburn near the entrance to Witton Park.

Lancashire Police say a black Suzuki Swift collided with the cyclist. No arrests have been made and the police are appealing for information.

Sgt John Jennings-Wharton, of East Division Roads Policing Unit, said: “Witton Park was busy with members of the public today enjoying the fine weather. Both the Suzuki Swift and the pedal cycle were travelling towards Blackburn town centre from the Pleasington area and I urge anyone who saw either the car or the pedal cyclist at that time in the area of the collision to contact police.”
