New Indian restaurant The Silk Route opens

The restaurant opens in the recently closed Ming Dynasty

A new Indian restaurant is to officially open this week.

The Silk Route is opening in what was the troubled Ming Dynasty chinese on Strand Road, Riversway.

The management team had hoped to be open by mid-June but a delay in new equipment arriving pushed their opening back to Monday 30 June.

Ali Enayet, one of the team behind the Silk Route, said it would hold up to 200 diners and be open from 5pm every day.

The restaurant is offering a takeaway service but only for collection.
