Join University of Central Lancashire in Preston for a three day celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and much more. Plus experience physics as never before through the power of rock and roll.
This year’s theme for the Lancashire Science Festival is Power Up. See people blow stuff up and witness flash, bang science.
Titan the 8ft singing, dancing and joke-cracking robot will be there. Dr Marty Jopson from BBC’s The One Show and Nick Arnold author of the Horrible Science books will be on hand and Fran Scott from CBBC will provide fire, explosions and excitement galore.
The huge Science Showfloor will be filled with inspiring demonstrations including a chance to meet weird creatures in the Zoo Bus.
UCLan Psychology experts demonstrate how to harness the power of your brain. Go digital and debate the use of drones and recharge your batteries at Surgical Spirit: The Science of Cocktails!
For 2014 the UCLan bring you the Festival of the Spoken Nerd, see the power of sparkling wit meeting fascinating science in this comedy night for the insatiably sci-curious.
There will also be a Festival shop at the Sit Tom Finney centre where you can grab some cool merchandise.
Back again this year is the IncrEDIBLE Science Cake-off. It’s certainly NOT the Great British Bake-Off! Prizes include a meal for two with champagne in Heathcotes Brasserie.
