Prestonians will be able to watch a live video stream of the local election results as they happen.

The city council has teamed up with local firm DNB Solutions to broadcast the election results from the Guild Hall.

Results are expected from around lunchtime but the broadcasts starts from 9.30am on Friday 23 May to include interviews with candidates and other coverage.

Lorraine Norris, Returning Officer at Preston City Council said: “This innovative technology is great for the people of Preston it enables them to tune in and see how the process works and also be kept up to date as the day unfolds. It is about making democracy open and accessible to the electorate.”
