Police appeal for information about prisoner who could be in Preston

A Merseyside prisoner has gone on the run and could be in the Preston area. according to Lancashire Police.

Robert Gavin, 36, absconded from HMP Kennet on March 23 and is wanted for recall to prison.

Gavin, originally from Dublin, was jailed two years ago for robbery and has links to Preston.

Det Sgt Simon Gray, of Blackpool Police, said: “We need to trace Gavin and return him to prison as a priority.

“There is the potential that he poses a risk to certain individuals that he knows, although not to wider members of the public.

“I would appeal to anyone who knows where he is or who recognises him to contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Gavin is white, medium build, 5’6″, with short dark hair and an Irish accent.
