Fire crew called after thick black smoke seen in Frenchwood

Two fire engines were sent out to Frenchwood after a man was found burning plastic.

Crews were called out after a significant amount of black smoke was coming from the pile of wood and rubbish being burned.

The crews attended the incident on Southern Parade on Friday morning.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews weren’t there too long and the black smoke made the incident look worse than it actually was.”
