Preston’s university is playing host to a dragons den style event for the future of media.
AdvertisementTechies, designers, business developers and journalists are invited to the University of Central Lancashire’s Media Factory for the Play Preston event.
From Friday 16 May to Sunday 18 May six media dragons will judge what the particpants come up with.
Previous attendee of the Medialab Sessions, Pamela Poole, said: “You can take chances you might not take when working with people you know because the strangers you’re with have no expectations or preconceived ideas of how you function.
“No matter what, working with total strangers forces you out of whatever box you were thinking in at the start.”
UK organiser Neila Romdane said: “A Medialab Session [Playground] gathers Techies, Designers, Business Developers and Journalists. During the week-end, they test and learn, sometime they fail and do it again.
“Failure is part of the process, we encourage them to start over with the complicity of European Dragons as mentors. At the end we hope that we change a little bit their life by connecting them to each other.”
Tickets to the three day event are £35 for students and £60 for everyone else, if you need accommodation it is £55 for students and £70 for everyone else. All prices include meals.
