An Age Concern charity shop in Plungington is set to become a new fast food takeaway.

Plans have been submitted to Preston City Council to change what the former charity shop can be used for.

The proposed new hot food takeaway serving chicken and burgers will employ 3 people and need the installation of a new shop front.

The new unit will be on Plungington Road on the corner of Barlow Street. An area already containing several other food outlets.

A Crime Impact Statement by Lancashire Police recommended that, due to the number of recent crimes in the area, the proposed premise should have a CCTV system installed providing coverage of the serving and
payment area as the main entrance into the store to deter assault, damage and disorder.

The plans are currently pending with the planning department.

Anyone wishing to see the application should visit the council website to view the plans. However the time to comment on the plans has now expired.
