A crew from Preston Fire Station were called out at 6.52pm on Sunday.

They found a quantity of rubbish and wood alight at the boarded up property.

The fire caused smoke damage to the whole of the building and in putting the fire out there was light water damage to one of the rooms.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire last night in the old BT building is believed to be suspicious at this time and we are working with the police to catch those people responsible.”
