Stallholders for the upcoming Lancashire Market are gearing up for a bumper event.
AdvertisementOrganisers have confirmed 90 stalls are to stretch along Friargate, Orchard Street and Friargate Brow.
The Easter market is taking place on Saturday 19 April.
John Boydell chair of market organisers, the Preston Business Improvement District (BID), said the Easter celebration would once again bring crowds of shoppers to the city centre.
He said: “The Lancashire Market has consistently brought tens of thousands of people to Preston city centre to get a taste of produce from across the county.
“We expect this Easter market to be another record for the market with yet more traders recognising this is the place to show off their products.
“As always, the market can do its bit to attract people to the city centre but it is up to traders to do their bit to keep them here and enjoying what Preston has to offer.”
The market is being sponsored by Preston College.
Carl Speight vice principal of enterprise and engagement at Preston’s College said: “Supporting local business is a key priority for us at Preston’s College so we’re extremely proud to be sponsoring such a well-recognised event that showcases the very best from our community.
“I’m sure our staff and students are also very much looking forward to getting a taste of the Lancashire Market.”
Craig Hughes bee-keeper and producer of Crossmoor Honey said: “We love the Lancashire Market, the people of Preston are so welcoming and friendly. It’s always a busy event and we truly look forward to coming back again and again.”
The market runs from 10am to 5pm.
