A reminder about a big band night tonight at popular Preston boozer and music venue, the Dog & Partridge.
For people who like loud or live noises from 4pm until 8pm Sun day night enjoy a Bohemia Sunday Session at the Dog
On the bill tonight are One man and his Beard from 4.30pm.
Described as brining ‘a unique mix of Protest and Love songs, done in a style unique’ One man and his Beard played the last Save BBC 6 MUSIC protest in front of BBC Broadcasting House on 22 May 2010 before it was reprieved from closure. He also released “We Need Libraries” to coincide with National Libraries Day 2012. The song later appeared on a BBC Radio 4 Documentary”The Library Returns”. Also wrote the “National Libraries Day”song to be released on National Libraries Day. Hope no one shouts ‘hush’ while he’s playing!
Popular 3 piece Preston Indie band Bingo Bay are on at 6pm fronted by songwriter Kevin Cross with Paddy Bromley(Bass) and Dave Hill(Drums).
The show continues at 7pm with Cumbrian based Gritty Britain.
The band sing about a comedically grittier side to life and their music is ‘tuneful.. with melodically catchy riffs accompanied by lyrics laced with wit and humour, in a no nonsense ‘this is how it is’ style’.
Bohemia Sunday Sessions hope to bring many more bands more to the Dog & Partridge.
