Preston was the centre of a Channel 4 news report on a study which showed young people are migrating to London.

The video report features interviews with the city council leader Peter Rankin, a recruitment agent and a piece about fashion students at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Centre for Cities report highlights a “brain drain” of the youngest and brightest from the city to the capital, and the Manchester and other cities.

800 young people have left the city and surrounding area to head for London and further afield.
