Preston is taking another battering weather wise this week as heavy rain and winds move in.
AdvertisementThe Met Office have issued two yellow weather warnings.
The first is in force currently on New Year’s Day for heavy rain until just before midnight.
10-15 mm is expected to fall in and around Preston and there could be localised flooding where the ground is already saturated.
A second warning is issued for Friday for strong winds throughout the day.
The Met Office say: “Another spell of unsettled weather is expected on Friday with further wet and windy conditions likely across western areas in particular. Tides will be very high, and the public should be aware of the risks of large waves and coastal flooding.”
Gusts of up to 50-60 mph are expected.
