You love your Christmas tree over the festive period, but how do you get rid of it come January? Well, to help prevent Christmas trees being needlessly dumped in landfill sites, recycle it at Ashton Park.

Preston residents can take their unwanted real Christmas trees to a Council designated recycling point.

Preston Council and the Parks and Horticulture Services have arranged a free drop off point at Ashton Park in Preston for you to bring your tree. Rangers will be on hand to collect the trees between 12pm and 3pm on Sunday 5th January. The trees will be ‘chipped up’ to make garden mulch for Preston Parks.

The Rangers can even plant live trees in the park for you to revisit throughout the year!

Remember to recycle and re-use where ever possible in 2014.
