CCTV images have been released by Lancashire Police after a 24-year-old man was put in hospital.

The incident took place around 2.40am on Sunday 3 November 2013 outside Baluga bar on Church Street.

He was approached by an unknown man who headbutted him.

The victim fell to the floor and hit his head on the pavement and lost consciousness.

The man walked away leaving the victim to be taken to Royal Preston Hospital to be treated for his head injury.

PC John Booth of Preston Police said: “This was a nasty, apparently unprovoked assault and we are keen to trace the person responsible.

“We have made several enquiries so far and have now taken the step of releasing CCTV images of a man we are looking to speak to in connection with the assault.

“If anyone recognises the man in the images or has any other information they think could assist then I would ask them to come forward and contact police on 101.”

Anyone with any information can contact police by calling 101 and quoting log number LC-20131103-0245. Alternatively, information can be passed to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
