A building society will be moving to a brand new branch on a major shopping street in Preston.

Nationwide have confirmed they will leave their base at 91 Fishergate and move further up the street to number 41.

River Island, currently occupying number 41, is set to move into the St George’s Centre.

The move is set to happen in the Spring.

A spokeswoman said: “We are pleased to confirm that our branch at 91 Fishergate, Preston, will move to 41 Fishergate and will open for business in the Spring.

“Our investment in this new larger site will provide local members with a vastly improved experience, including access to more private meeting rooms and multi functional internal ATMs.

“More details will be made available in the Spring, but in the interim our team at 91 Fishergate continue to welcome local members to their branch.”

It is not known what will happen to 91 Fishergate.
