A Preston man has been jailed for making and possessing an explosive.
AdvertisementChristopher Dooley, 40, of Slaidburn Road, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court for three and a half years.
Lancashire Police said Dooley made a nail bomb in July, and left it in the front garden of a house in Moor Nook.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called to examine the device and ensure it was safe.
Detective Sergeant Martin Pearson says: “The sentence reflects the seriousness of the offence. Clearly this was distressing for the victim, whose child found the device. Fortunately no one was hurt in the process.”
Dooley had pleaded guilty to making an explosive substance.
