A Preston hospice is throwing open its doors and grounds for a Christmas celebration.
AdvertisementSt Catherine’s Hospice is now making its Christmas Festival an annual event following the success of last year’s event.
It includes an ice rink and this year’s Santa Dash, previously through the city centre, takes a route around the Lostock Hall gardens.
Rachel Hewitt, Head of Trading, said: “We were overwhelmed with the amount of people who came to show their support for the festival last year.
“The grounds looked magical and everybody had a wonderful time getting in the festive spirit.
“Now we are building on last year’s event – making this year’s festival bigger and better, with more attractions for the family to enjoy.
“We hope to welcome lots of visitors to the hospice to celebrate the start of the festive season, whilst raising much-needed funds.”
The Christmas Festival runs from Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December, 12noon to 6pm every day.
The Santa Dash is a two-mile route through the hospice grounds and Lostock Hall, and children are invited to take part in the Rudolph Rumble half-mile.
Norman Cutler, Senior Fundraiser, said: “The Santa Dash is such a fun event for all and people really enjoy taking part to raise funds for the hospice.
“We’re sure the Santa Dash and Rudolph Rumble will really add to the fun and festive atmosphere at the festival.”
