We might all be getting an extra hour in bed on Saturday evening/Sunday morning but Monday’s weather forecast does not look good.
The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for wind and rain in Preston and the surrounding area throughout Monday 28 October.
Weather forecasters state: “A very intense low pressure system is forecast to run northeastwards across the country early on Monday, bringing the potential for a very windy spell of weather. At the same time, persistent, heavy rain could cause some surface water flooding.
“There is still some uncertainty in the timing, intensity and track of the low. However, the public should be aware of the risk of damage to trees and structures, as well as the possibility of disruption to transport and power supplies.”
There is expected to be some localised flooding with the chief forecaster stating between 20mm to 40mm of rain may fall within six to nine hours.
The bad weather is expected to clear from 9pm on Monday.
