Just arrived in the city a place where you can treat yourself to deliciously healthy, fat free yogurts, fruit smoothies and blends and feel good. To feel even better indulge your wicked side cover them with naughty toppings like cheesecake, chocolates, cereals, candies, gummies, syrups or whipped cream. Definitely a place to keep your taste buds tantalised!

Yogyums newly open just across from the Fishergate Shopping Centre describes itself as a Frozen Yogurt Shop, Smoothie & Juice Bar and Coffee shop all in one. They say they provide everything you need to quench your thirst or tickle your tastebuds! Well I had to find out.

The place looks really smart with modern but retro feeling red plastic seating. Pretty cool atmosphere. Looking at their menus the frozen yogurts are fat free made with fresh milk sourced from farms in the UK. They use fresh hand-cut fruits and a range of confectionery toppings to elevate the yogurt experience. They come in three sizes, small, medium and large. You can even try a sample before you buy. Also on the packed menu are smoothies and waffles.

I noticed the shakes (or Yog shakes as they call them). I had The Refresher. A lush mixture of mint aero, whipped cream, chocolate sauce with their fat free ‘ froyo’ with a Cadburys flake on top. Yes, the yogurt’s fat free but I enjoyed the extravagant chocy mixture. Proper milkshakes are thick. The Yog shake is obviously lighter but the extras make it nice and creamy (and filling). The shakes come in a range of sizes but I felt the large a bit rich at £4.10.

Don’t like the menu yogs? Make your own from a list of sweets like Orea or M&M’s or Kit-Kat or Toblerone, the choices are crazy.

They haven’t got their electronic card readers on-line yet so cash only for a while and be prepared to wait a little while for your freshly prepared treat.

I liked the place and enjoyed the shake. Will definitely go back. I hope the guys make a go of it as it’s something a little different for Preston.

A great place for a healthy indulgence or naughty bite .
