One of Preston’s biggest shopping nights of the year is set to take place next week.

The Student lock-in night at St Georges Shopping Centre will be held for the sixth year running.

On Tuesday 1 October over 10,000 student shoppers are expected to be greeted by TV stars Mark Wright and Jennifer Metcalfe.

The shopping night sees stores open late from 6pm to 9pm to let students grab a bargain.

Alanna Dent, marketing manager at St George’s Shopping Centre, said: “We expect the demand for these one-night-only discounts and giveaways to be higher than ever, especially with Mark and Jennifer on site.

“This is such a popular event with students, and this year is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, it’ll create a real buzz in the city.”

A black cab photo booth, entertainment and live music will also be part of the night.

Thirty students will be offered the chance to meet Mark Wright and Hollyoaks actress Metcalfe and one visitor will receive £1,000.

Registration for the competition is through the St George’s Shopping Centre Facebook page.
