One Voice Community Choir from Preston will be making a TV appearance on BBC One later this month battling it out with five other amateur gospel choirs from around the country.
The celebrities Judging the choirs over the next two Sundays will be singer-songwriter and actress Ruby Turner; Bazil Meade, founder of the London Community Gospel Choir and vocal coach and TV presenter Carrie Grant.
They will be appearing on Songs Of Praise as the show presents six of the best amateur gospel choirs from around the UK showcasing their singing talents.
Singing their hearts out to tunes like What A Friend We Have In Jesus, Battle Hymn Of The Republic and Jesus Paid It they will perform before the judging panel who over the two weeks will choose the first-ever Songs Of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year.
The event will be filmed in front of a live audience at a packed Birmingham Town Hall.
As well as One Voice Community Choir other choirs taking part are: Fountain of Praise from Dagenham in Essex, Hope Community Gospel Choir from Nottingham; Birmingham’s Town Hall Gospel Choir and London based Faith Works.

The One Voice Choir will also be appearing today at Preston Pride dressed in rainbow costumes.
