The playground was created during the development of the area by Rowland Homes but is now rarely used.

Developers wish to turn the site into two semi-detacthed houses both with three bedrooms.

Mellor Architects state in 2005 a payment was made to Preston City Council by Rowland Homes for the provision of public open space elsewhere in the city.

The playground backs onto a factory wall as the area around Shelley Road is primarily used for industry.

Anyone wishing to comment can do so via the council website or emailing devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference number 06/2013/0530 by Sunday 25 August.
