Preston Supporters Group are urging PNE fans to don their white shirts, tops or any other white clothing in a show of strength ahead of their clash with Blackpool.
The Tangerines head down the M55 for Deepdle as the two sides meet in the League Cup on Monday 5 August.
John Kelly from the supporters group said with the match being live on Sky they want the best atmosphere possible.
He said: “Many supporters have lasting memories of a certain Mickey Conroy goal the last time we played them in a cup match at Deepdale. Which by coincidence was on a Monday night and also on Sky Sports.
“The atmosphere that night was brilliant as many matches where on the old Town End. Well we want to create as close to that night as possible on the 5th.
“We are hoping for a packed Deepdale that night and as part of this we want every single fan in the home end to wear something white.
“This could be the new home shirt, an old home shirt,a white boiler suit, or even just a plain white shirt if you prefer.”
Mr Kelly said they are attempting to find some white balloons for the evening.
Anyone who can help source them is asked to get in touch on Twitter or Facebook.
Meanwhile Lancashire Police have said they don’t expect any problems between the two sets of fans.
Superintendent Richard Morgan said: “There is a friendly rivalry between Blackpool and Preston and the League Cup meeting will be the first time the two clubs have faced each other in over three years.
“We have worked closely with both clubs and there will be an appropriate policing operation in place for the match at Deepdale with the priority being to ensure the safety of the supporters and those involved in the game.”
