An Ingol man has been jailed for his part in an armed robbery at a Spar shop.
AdvertisementAlan Cunningham, 23, was part of a masked gang of three men who entered the store on Woodplumpton Road, Ingol, in October 2012.
The gang, armed with a screwdriver and a hammer, stole £400.
Cunningham, of Redcar Avenue, Ingol, received a four year jail term for his part in the robbery.
DC Darren Caunce from Preston Police said: “This was a planned robbery and it left the shopkeeper terrified.
“I am pleased with the sentence given which demonstrates the seriousness of the offence. We will continue to use every available tool to identify robbery suspects and bring them to justice.”
Cunnigham also received a three month prison sentence, which is to run concurrent, for driving whilst disqualified as well as a two year driving ban.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the other two offenders in the robbery.
