Solar panels could be appearing on the new apartments planned for Ribbleton

Two new apartments with solar panels on the roof are set to be built in a sleepy Ribbleton cul-de-sac.

Land at Village Drive has been earmarked to be built on and provide new homes for the city.

The proposals by Stephen Rimmer, and tabled by Michael Jackson Associates, show how an empty plot of land could be transformed.

Land between 52 and 53 Village Drive is currently overgrown with trees and shrubs after an end of terrace house was demolished becase of its poor condition. It was previously a council house.

Documents sent to Preston City Council’s planning department show the plans include 10 solar panels on the front and rear roof of the building.

The plans are available on the council website and anyone can comment on the application or email devcon@preston.gov.uk with their comments quoting reference 06/2013/0162 by Saturday 13 April.
