The brains behind many a good night at the Mad Ferret are branching out into festivals

Two of Preston’s music pioneers are setting up a new music festival for the North West,

Wuchiefest is the brainchild of the Mad Ferret’s Fraser Boon and Ark Preston founder Gareth Butterworth.

The festival will take place at Woodshaw Park, Aspull just outside Wigan.

Fraser and Gareth have secured the help of Aspull Rugby club and its committee member Martin Jump.

The festival will take place on Saturday 10 August and Sunday 11 August.

The two men have a track record of putting on acts who have gone on to become huge including The Vaccines, Alt-J, The Joy Formidable, Ed Sheeran, Jamie T and Frightened Rabbit.

Antics, the monthly club night at the Mad Ferret showing the best in new music, is also another contribution to the music scene in Preston.

You can get more information on Wuchiefest on their website or on social media via Facebook and Twitter.
