David has an impressive client list, as shown on his website. Companies that have commissioned or have purchased images from him include E H Booths, Building Design Partnership, Eric Wright Construction, Prince’s Trust, Network Rail and the North West Development Agency.

A few weeks ago David photographed Preston Bus Station and has produced some stunning black and white images which are available to buy as either Framed Fine Art Pro prints or as individual digital downloads from his website.

I asked David what attracted him to the bus station. He told me:  ‘I first visited Preston Bus Station whilst shooting for the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment CABE. My brief was to photograph various buildings around Tithebarn Street but not the Bus Station.

‘For several years one of my clients was BDP the architects of PBS. When I discovered that it had been scheduled for demolition I realised that if I wanted to photograph it I had better do it sooner rather than later.

‘I’ve always had an interest in architecture and there’s something quite majestic and special about PBS. I think part of the attraction for myself is that time has stood still and on the whole the original 1960’s fixtures are intact. It’s like stepping back in to the 60’s!

‘I spent a whole day wondering around and I was surprised to see just how many passengers use it. I ate in the Café, they make a really tasty bacon and egg barn which was exceptionally good value.

‘I can see that the Bus Station is looking tired but I’m sure without too much imagination that it could be transformed in to a transport interchange fit for today’s travellers.
