New mosaic designed by the pupils of St Matthews school in Preston with help from Mosaic artist, Christie Webster
Chrissy, a Mixed Media Mosaic & Craft Tutor and Community Artist has been busy working with school children’s designs for a new floor mural. Funds for the mosaic were collected by Terry, a Ranger for Preston City Council and the Friends of Fishwick and St. Matthew’s. Terry approached St. Matthew’s School to get some designs and these were used directly as templates for the mosaic.
The finished piece has been installed on the footpath at Fishwick Bottoms, just off London Road near the River Ribble. It has taken some time as they have been waiting for the weather to warm up
.
Chrissy can also be found at the Brockholes Nature Reserve for a craft workshop on Tuesday 19th February at 1pm until 3pm (£.7.50).
Chrissy loves spreading the art bug to students and watching their art passion grow – and realising anyone can have a go. Chrissy is qualified to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, and has Enhanced CRB certification.
