A spate of thefts from cars in the Fulwood and Lea area have seen an increased police presence in the area.
AdvertisementUnlocked cars have been targeted and CCTV pictures show thieves in Fulwood taking advantage.
The incident took place on Wednesday 2 January at 1.35am on Royal Avenue.
Thieves made off with £10 from the car.
Police say there have been 12 similar incidents in the area and officers want residents to take extra car to secure their cars.
Sergeant Paul McLernon of Lea Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It is not clear at this stage whether all these incidents are linked so we would appeal to anyone with any information that may assist the investigation to come forward.
“I would also take this opportunity to urge people to take care to lock up their vehicles when leaving them unattended – An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure – we want people to be regularly taking simple steps such as locking up and removing valuables from sight so that they don’t become victims of crime.”
