Galloway’s Society for the Blind, have brought Santa to St George’s Shopping Centre in Preston.
A special grotto has been set up on the upper floor at the Friargate side of the centre to enable children to see Santa and let him know what they want for Christmas.
In return, Santa is using this opportunity to let the children know that if he is to grant them their wishes, they have to obey Santa’s rules!
The Galloway’s helpers are on hand to keep things running smoothly while the children talk to Santa and to take photographs, which you can take away with you after your visit.
Galloway’s Society for the Blind was established in Preston in 1867 and since then has expanded to cover a large part of Lancashire, with the charity now supporting around 6500 blind and visually impaired people by the current 500 volunteer workers.
Their aims are to support people with reduced vision so that they can lead full and independent lives. The main centre for Galloway’s is now in Penwortham, Preston.
Santa said that he was delighted to be able to join up with the Galloway’s Society in bringing a little joy to the children before he sets off on his long journey around the world on Christmas Eve.
From Thursday 13th of December until Christmas Eve Galloway’s are offering a Gift wrapping service.
If every year you find it difficult wrapping your presents and really do not have the time, then this year Galloway’s can help.
All you need to do is take your gift’s into the centre and someone will wrap them for you.
Proceeds from the Santa visit and the gift wrapping service will go to Galloway’s Society for the Blind.
