Preston’s Harris Museum and Art Gallery came top in the Green Tourism category at the Lancashire Green Awards held tonght (15 November)
Nicknamed the ‘Green Globes’ the Green Tourism awards were held at The Villa at Wrea Green, just outside Preston. At the glittering ceremony The Harris Museum was deservedly chosen from the list of the 2012 Lancashire Green Awards finalists.
The Green Tourism award is relevant to any tourism enterprise, large or small, rural or urban who are actively engaged in reducing the negative environmental and social impacts of their tourism operation. It is hoped that the awards will help raise awareness of the need for better environment performance by business, industry and community.
Well done to the Harris!
