The annual firework display held on Pear Tree Park, Middleforth Green in Penwortham, Preston took place tonight on 5th November.

Opened by Mayor of Penwortham, Councillor Melvyn Gardner the event was, as every year totally free but donations to the Mayors charities were (and still are) very welcome.

In my opinion, the best free display in the North West.

Plenty of other attractions on offer. Aside from the banging soundtrack from the DJ that accompanied the show there were fun rides for the kids plus loads of (very popular) food stalls.  There was a great family friendly atmosphere. Must say a very well done to all those who helped put the show together.

Someone behind me said ‘better than Lancaster’, which is high praise indeed, as the recent firework display over Lancaster Castle was brilliant.
