The ever popular annual Run Preston event returned to the city on Sunday 30 September.
Being the year of The Guild, an 833 year tradition recurring every 20 years, the 10k formed one of numerous planned events to celebrate this iconic year. The 10k was the second of four Guild Races (5k, 10k, half or full marathon and 10 mile) to take place within the city during 2012 and will actively support charities from local to national level.
The course itself comprised of an urban and countryside element, starting and finishing in the scenic city centre park Avenham Park. Roads will be closed to accommodate the race. The event is supported by Preston Harriers, Red Rose Runners and Wesham Road Runners and the emergency services.
Over 1,500 runners took part on the day. All stepping a foot in history.
