Perhaps it’s the Bradley Wiggins effect or it may just be down to the Guild Wheel but there’s no doubt about it, more people are getting out on their bikes in Preston. People of all ages too from the MAMILs (Middle Aged Men In Lycra) to youngsters, everyone seems to have rediscovered the joy of cycling.

This is another photograph that highlights the success of the Guild Wheel and I know I have covered it at least twice previously in the Preston in the Picture series. This particular shot was taken during last weekend’s Guild celebrations by the River Ribble, on the Frenchwood side, heading back towards Avenham Park.

The picture was taken on my work-horse camera, the Nikon D700 with 80-200mm lens attached. Shot at 125mm 1/320sec at F3.5 for those that are interested and the ISO was set to 500.
