Caught on camera today. A large fire in the back garden of a house on Powis Road in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston.

Smoke covered part of Watery Lane across from Morrisons supermarket for a while, some passing cars parked up for a closer look.

I spoke to bystanders in the street near the fire who were very wary of me asking questions assuming I was press. They eventually told me the blaze was in an ‘out-house’ of some kind. From the other side it looked like a greenhouse. It went up in flames and loud bangs and pops could be heard coming from inside, the fire igniting the contents of the building. Emergency services were called to the site and quickly extinguished the blaze.

Latest: It was a domestic shed. 2 hose reels were used and thermal imaging camera Damage: Domestic shed and contents destroyed by fire. 50% of greenhouse severe by heat. 20% severe by heat to external wall of adjacent garage
