Students, staff and local residents can now access first-rate dental services on the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) Preston campus.
The UCLan Dental Clinic (UDC) was opened by the University Vice-Chancellor, Malcolm McVicar, on 27 September.
The state-of-the-art facility will provide specialised dental services at very competitive prices, as well as allowing dentists from UCLan’s School of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education to gain clinical experience on campus – something few other universities can offer.
Announcing the launch of the clinic, StJohn Crean, Dean of the School of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, said: “This is an exciting development for UCLan – as well as for dental education in the northwest region. Our on-campus clinic will give students and staff access to first class dental services and allow our dental students an amazing opportunity to develop their clinical skills without leaving the University.”
The clinic will offer patients cover under the Denplan service – whereby users pay a set amount each month to cover their care. UCLan students will be able to use credits from the UCLan Advantage – a package of benefits exclusively tailored for the University’s students – to pay for dental treatment.
