Today is the day that the Guild Wheel officially opens and this is a picture for all those people taking part in this morning’s exciting celebration with a 21 mile charity cycle ride. The official ‘ribbon-cutting’ takes place at 11:30 near the Riverside Cafe.

The picture shows the starting/finish post in Avenham Park for what is already proving to be a popular leisure attraction. The Guild Wheel has been created as a lasting legacy from the 2012 Preston Guild.

The route covers a wide range of landscapes from the urban splendour of the City’s parks to the more rural paths alongside the River Ribble.
