A theatrical artist is the newest addition to the MAPS Festival showcase of the contemporary arts.

Leo Olamerino will bring his theatre to the city where he aims to provoke stories rather than telling them.

He said: “I try to provide the audience with material that aims at triggering our ‘collective imagination’.

“I work with groups from very different artistic and academic backgrounds. We use and abuse words, images, sounds and bodies in light of what other influential artists have created before.”

Olamerino is a projects co-ordinator for the Lancaster Emerging Arts Platform and studies at the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts.
