Jail for Preston man who punched woman in the face as she tried to re-claim debts

This is the face of a violent thug who broke a woman’s jaw at his home in Preston.

Luis Lopes was jailed for twenty months after he broke the woman’s jaw, after she attempted to get him to repay his debts.

39-year-old Lopes was visited by the woman at his former home in Harcourt Street.

She asked for the money he owed her, but he lashed out and severly beat her.

Sgt Mark Burns, of Preston CID, said: “This attack was a nasty and sustained assault with the victim suffering a very badly injured jaw as well as mental anguish.

“The imposed custodial sentence will hopefully go a little way in helping the victim recover from the incident.”
