Woman robbed at knife point outside Ribbleton cash machine

Police are hunting an Asian man after a knife point robbery outside a cash machine in Ribbleton.

A 27-year-old woman was withdrawing money from the machine outside Costcutters on Ribbleton Lane when a man forced a knife into her back.

The terrified woman was forced to hand over money from her account and the hooded man then ran off down Skeffington Road.

The incident took place at 12.30pm on Thursday 7 June and the offender is described as Asian, 25 to 30 years old, thin, and wearing a dark hoody.

DC Les Clegg from Preston CID said: “This is a serious offence which took place at a busy time of day where there would have been a high volume of traffic through the area.

“I would appeal to anybody that thinks they may have witnessed this incident or with any information that could assist with our investigation to come forward and speak with police.”

Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
