Last night a group of performing arts student from the University of Central Lancashire brought their own brand of outdoor contemporary arts to Avenham and Miller Park. It’s not everyday that you get an informative tour of the parks thanks to ‘TheFriends of Avenham-Miller Park’ a community group with an interest and vast amount of knowledge about the parks.

Most interesting though was the various art ‘installations’ that had been set up around the parks which then formed part of the tour. There was everything from a talented singer to a couple of beautiful geisha girls performing a tea ceremony. Then there was the more obscure – a man dressed as a dog led on a rock and a young lady in a swimsuit rolling around in the mud. Top that off with some acting and dancing performances with a bit of juggling thrown in and you have an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours. A big well done to the Play House Creatives who put on this slightly strange but enjoyable event.
