Work has started to makeover one of the main university buildings in Preston.
AdvertisementFoster Building, at the University of Central Lancashire, which borders Corporation Street and Marsh Lane, is getting a £1.9m revamp.
The refurb, being undertaken by Bamber Bridge based firm Conlon Construction, will see a new reception hall, three new lecture theatres and an updated medical centre for the city’s student population.
Construction director Michael Conlon, said: “Conlon has extensive experience in the education sector from nurseries through to university buildings such as this. It will be wonderful to see the students at UCLan settle into these new facilities which will benefit all those who attend the university for many years to come.”
UCLan Principal Surveyor, Dave Price, commented: “Conlon has delivered a number of successful projects for the University and I sure this will be another quality project finished on time.”
The work is due to be completed by the start of new academic year in September.
