New crossing on Longridge Road to help complete Guild Wheel

Work is due to begin to help complete a 21-mile cycle route around the city in time for the Preston Guild.

The Guild Wheel, which goes in a ring around Preston, is missing a crossing on Longridge Road near the Red Scar industrial estate.

Lancashire County Council will begin work shortly to allow a safe crossing point to link the east and West of Longridge Road.

Sections of the pavement are also due to be changed to form shared use for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Guild Wheel is due to be officially opened in August.
