A man who stabbed his grandmother and aunt to death in their Fulwood home in a frenzied attack was jailed for life today.
AdvertisementLee Browne, 22 from Fulwood, will be jailed for a minimum of 30 years after pleading guilty on the first day of his trial at Preston Crown Court.
Police were called to a house on Longfield after reports of a fire in August, and found the bodies of Maureen Allen, 79, and Geraldine Allen, 57.
Browne, who was 21 at the time, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in October.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Barrow said: “This is a truly horrendous crime and although nothing will ever bring Maureen or Geraldine back, we hope this conviction provides the families with the knowledge and some comfort that the person responsible has been brought to justice.
“Family liaison officers are continuing to support the family as they have done throughout the investigation and our thoughts remain with them as they come to terms with such a tragic loss.”
