Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dragon at the Charter Theatre tomorrow

The Jilin Song and Dance Troupe and the Beijing Normal University Performance Troupe will celebrate Chinese New Year with a performance at the Charter Theatre tomorrow.

The Jilin Song and Dance Troupe will entertain the audience with a show of traditional dance, folk music, singing and theatricality. The Beijing Normal University Performance Troupe fuse toegher martial arts, poetry, music, song and dance.

Together these artists aim to present a performance concept rich in content, and their choreography combines with distinctive local characteristics to traditional Chinese songs.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (available from the box office on 0845 344 2012 or Preston Guild Hall’s website)

This year the Preston Chinese Community Association have decided to not arrange the annual procession through the town centre, traditionally due to take place this Sunday.
