Do they know its Christmas time at all?” Well I do. Not wanting to sound like the grinch but we are in the first week of December and the Christmas lights are on in town, so it’s time to stop going out and start purchasing pesky gifts or you can just carry on and say they are all in the post because you will be a fool to miss the goodies coming up this month in Preston.

First off most of you would have heard the news that EXIT had shut its doors but fear not it is not for the last time.  Fear not this isn’t a permanent thing and it is just for a revamp.

Lee Hartley the boss man of EXIT posted: “Exit is closed temporarily while we improve the venue and the format to better serve our clients (i.e.: you!). Look out for some big events over xmas and hopefully a very big deal to celebrate the new year’s arrival. Working to keep the quality, and improve the public awareness in the surrounding areas to give you top acts and full dance floors, with all the atmosphere that this will create. Thanks for your continued enthusiasm and support. We love you!!”

This has set a lot of the nightclubs fans minds at rest including my own and I’m looking forward to what they have hidden away for New Years Eve.

In local gig news, my favorite band in the north west Population Four are back from tour and preparing to headline at 53Degrees, this is going to be an amazing night. The five piece rock band have supported the likes of Twin Atlantic, The Blackout, The Automatic, Blitz Kids, Straight Lines and Me vs Hero and  have won three Battle of the bands and have recently been crowned the Ready To Rumble Champions. It is definitely their time to shine.  Have a peak at the awesome music video soon to be appearing on Scuzz and Kerrang

If you do attend one gig this month I would really suggest these guys who are on tonight at 53 Degrees tickets available HERE. Let you in in a little secret if you buy a ticket off the guys in person you get a free copy of  a CD with 3 BRAND NEW tunes that will be appearing on their upcoming album just give them a message though Facebook.

Do not worry all is not lost if you can not attend tonight their is always a chance for some Christmas Eve,  rock and metal at Rampage Preston, as the guys will also be playing a packed Friday night there on 23rd December.

Rampage at Roper Hall is starting to be the first stop on a night out in Preston on a Friday bringing brilliant bands from all over the UK start off our weekends.  Last week seeing Better Left Alone taking to the stage and being adored by their following of emo girls, these guys deserve some success.

Dragstrip Junkies  will be there on the 9th December with their “Trashy Punk Edged Sleazy Rock ‘n’ Roll”, once again don’t miss these guys. The night is still keeping up with cheap drink promises and is only £1 to get in before 11pm and is open from 8 till 3am.

Now if you like your hippy hoppy style (attempting to sound cool) a not so local and not so unsigned night at 53 degrees on the 3rd December when Professor Green will be there. Sadly the support act The Rizzle Kicks (the “get down with the trumpets” dudes) have had to pull out but a surprise (last minute who ever is available) act will be filling in. Up to now there are still tickets that will be available on door on the night at £16. Good Luck.

Now a few plugs of new things this month:

It’s been a while and they have been hiding away in the studio but Failsafe have uploaded a new song as a teaser for their long awaited new album, a massive Preston band going from strength to strength and even further have a listen to Early Hours.

We also have a new video from a favourite of mine A Carnal Elect have released band new song Filament along with an excellent brand new video.

That’s all from me this month have an excellent Christmas and I’ll be here before New Year to let you know what’s going on and where.

If  you do have any gigs coming up let me know on My Twitter or in the comments below.
