In Photos: Preston’s Christmas Lights Switch On

Thousands of people turned out on Saturday night for Preston’s Christmas Lights Switch On at the Flag Market.

Celebrities in attendance were Beverley Knight, X Factor’s Jonjo Kerr and Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan and Ryan Thomas. The huge crowd (the LEP say 11,000) lined the streets from Friargate to Fishergate.

The crowd were entertained by a variety of musical acts from 3:30 onwards before the seeing Beverley Knight flick the switch just before 7 o’clock.
